David Armour, President
David brings extensive fundraising and foundation experience to his work at The United Church of Canada Foundation. He has headed major fundraising campaigns as Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Olympic Foundation, as president of the United Way of Canada—Centraide Canada, and as a regional director of the Heart and Stroke Foundation. David has also served as senior advisor to the Université Laval Foundation and has developed two new foundations, the Canadian Medical Foundation and the Canadian Olympic Foundation.
David is also a committed volunteer who has given his talents and time to many national organizations, including the Pembina Institute, Food Banks Canada, the Canadian Red Cross, and the Canadian Centre for Philanthropy. He holds a Masters in Management from McGill University and a Bachelor of Science degree from McMaster University.

Sarah Charters, Donor & Investor Relations Manager
Sarah began her work in the charitable sector as a fundraiser and worked for various health charities. Since 2007, she has worked at the Foundation and enjoys the interaction with individuals and congregations passionate about the work of the church. Sarah is an active member and chorister at Eglinton St. George’s United Church.

Kathie Murphy, Program Assistant
Kathie came to The United Church of Canada in 2006 from a background as a reference librarian. Working not only for the Foundation, but also for other groups within the church, she has been able to see the positive effects that the gifts of individuals and congregations have had on the church’s ministries.
